Jam'n in the Park at Craigmont
July 14 saw the second Thursday evening session of Jam’n in the Park at the Craigmont City Park.
A cooler evening with a gentle breeze didn’t stop the crowd of the 10 musicians that came to listen and perform. The musicians for the evening were Max Stevens of Winchester, Francis and Netta Ellsworth of Ferdinand, Andy smith and Darrell Monroe of Lewiston, Helen Marshall of Nezperce, our own Ron and Arlene Parrish of Craigmont, Gina Bina of Grangeville and John Quackenbush clear from Missoula, Montana. He was here working with Hillcrest Aircraft Co., Inc. as a helicopter pilot. The evening was filled with good music from all of the performers and laughter as our MC, John Hahn of Hahn Tractor Seats, specializing in antique Caterpillar Cushions in Craigmont, announced and introduced each selection.
This evening was truly dedicated to the Craigmont Fire Department. The concessions were provided and managed by the Fire Department with Fire Chief Rick Samsel and Firemen Gary Ball, Tim Droegmiller and Mike Weddle serving the beef polish sausage dog, baked beans, chips and beverages. Also added to the menu were the pies and desserts provided by a very special group of Craigmont ladies: Ren’a Ball, Roxy Presnell, Ruth Roy, Ethel Samsel, Francie Tatko, Barbara Thomason, Gayle Way and Monica Zehr, owner of Camas Club & Café. If you didn’t make it to Jam’n, you missed a special treat. These ladies once again came to support the Craigmont Fire Department with their wonderful pies and desserts. No one left hungry!
Fire Chief Samsel went through the crowd selling 50/50 tickets. The people look forward to the 50/50 each time. The winner for this evening was Don Travis of Craigmont, who willingly donated his winnings of $35 back to the Fire Department. Thank you to Don Travis and all those who participated, supporting the Craigmont Fire Department.
As the evening grew colder, Jam’n in the Park came to a close. We hope to see everyone again from 6-9 p.m. next Thursday, July 21st. The concessions will be provided by Primeland as the Customer Appreciation Barbecue. Come and join us again in Beautiful Craigmont, Idaho!
