Think Pink fundraiser
Did you know it is predicted for 2011 that 230,480 cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed, in which 39,520 will result in death.   In the state of Idaho alone for every 100,000 people 116 will be diagnosed with breast cancer.  Whether it is our sisters, mothers, aunts, grandmothers or friends and yes although rare, even our brothers, fathers, uncles and grandfathers and sometimes ourselves, many are affected by breast cancer.
In efforts to support prevention and research for a cure for breast cancer, the Kamiah and Prairie High School volleyball teams will be holding a “Think Pink” game on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Prairie High starting at 6:00 p.m.  The teams not only will be competing on the court, they will compete against each other in fundraising.  All donations and profits will be given to St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinic’s Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
If you would like more information or would like to donate to this cause you can contact thinkpinkphsvs.khs@gmail.com,  Bailey Nygaard at 208-935-2932 (KHS), Taylor LeCates 208-935-1362 (KHS), or Demetria Riener 208-962-5938 (PHS).  Local high school students will also be selling pink paper volleyballs which will be displayed in the gym during the game.  We are asking a donation of one dollar for a small pink paper volleyball, and five dollars for a large pink memorial or survivor volleyball.   We hope to see you take part in this event.
