Mardi Gras planning continues
The St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Mardi Gras committee has been hard at work planning this Leianne Everett and Debbie Schumacher showing off one of the bottles of wine which will part of the wine tree that will be auctioned off at the SMH Mardi Gras on February 25th.event which will be held on February 25 at the Cottonwood Community Hall.  The event will begin at 5:00 with a social hour followed by dinner, presentations, live and silent auctions and casino games.
“I am really excited about this event,” said Cheri Holthaus, Development Coordinator for St. Mary’s Hospital.  “We have some great items to auction off including a cedar chest, 4-wheel tires, jewelry, flowers, wine tree, family game night package and much more.  However my favorite is a “Day off Package” which includes yard work, housecleaning, car washes, laundry and/or dry cleaning services, dinner and while someone is doing all the work you can relax and get a massage; this package is worth well over $200.  This is one I plan on bidding on.”
Tickets for this event are $30.00 each and are available at St. Mary’s Hospital and all the clinics in Cottonwood, Grangeville, Kamiah, Nezperce and Craigmont or by calling Cheri Holthaus at 962-2327. There are a limited number of tickets being sold; so make sure and get yours early.
“This is a Mardi Gras event so we will have jazz and big band music playing throughout the evening,” said Holthaus.  “The hall will be decorated in bright colors and lights, those attending the event will get beads and masks to wear; which will add to the festive atmosphere.”
Proceeds from the Mardi Gras will go towards the purchase of equipment for St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics.  There will also be a special raffle/game held to win a hot air balloon ride and the proceeds from that will go towards the Neighbor’s House.  The Neighbor’s House is a home which is owned and maintained by a family in Cottonwood as a service to the patients of St. Mary’s Hospital or their family members who need to spend the night in Cottonwood.  There is no charge for using the facilities however, they do accept donations.  “The Mardi Gras committee felt donating to the Neighbor’s House was very appropriate as it exemplifies our Mission Statement here at St. Mary’s Hospital in particular our Core Value of Hospitality.
