Parish dinner is Sunday
St Mary’s / Holy Cross Dinner – 35 years - A legacy, A challenge.
How do you keep a community alive?  How do you create goodness?  2012 marks the thirty fifth year that Keuterville has hosted a parish dinner and raffle.  The beginnings in 1978 were humbling with blown fuses requiring the placement of electric stoves in a nearby garage for the 300 lbs of mashed potatoes.  Where cooks, servers and dishwashers endured the sweltering heat of a wood cook stove as they crammed together in a 17’ X 28’ basement kitchen to serve over 700 people.  Where 97 dozen rolls were made by one talented woman, and 3 fruit pies were donated by every household.  What had started as a fund raiser became a community builder that left a deep sense of pride in each other and our parish.
Since that time improvements have been made.  The kitchen has been replaced, parishes have consolidate and new friends have replaced old, but the  commitment to serving the best our little community has to offer is still in place.  Come join us in celebrating our 35th annual parish dinner in Keuterville, February 12, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for roast beef and ham dinner with all the fixings including homemade pie.  Bingo and a raffle drawing for 29 prizes will begin at 4 o’clock.  Hope to see you there.
