Babe Ruth team 5-0 in league play
They were YOUNG and they were FEW, but the Cottonwood Pirate Babe Ruth team was dedicated and determined this season. From late April through June the Pirate team of ONLY 11 players worked hard 6 days per week; and despite losing their first 3 games, ended 10-7 and a PERFECT  5-0 in CIL play.
The team was able to be sustained and compete thanks to 3 Little League players and their parents that were willing to take a chance and compete at a higher level.
Again the coveted “Sports-manship Award” (selected by the players) went to Peter Spencer.
Clark Bruno, the only 15 year old graduate of the team, was the team MVP. Daniel Mager led the team in Batting Average and OBP. He also hit the teams’ only home run; a 3 run shot that led to a win in the season finale.
Manager Frank Bruno said, “This is the best and most fun Babe Ruth team I have ever coached. And that includes Championship teams and winning teams of many past seasons.”
Manager Bruno thanks all the players, parents, fans and the many that contributed to such a wonderful season. “It would not have been possible without you.” THANK YOU!
