School Registration
Prairie Elementary will not host a formal registration as schedules are in place for our current students.  Any new families with school age children, who would like to register their children, may come in any Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Registration for the Prairie Jr./Sr. High School students will be held on Wednesday, August 8th during the times of 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM  and 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM.  The fees for the high school students for the 2012-13 school year will be as follows:
Activity Card, $50.00; Adv. Biology (if enrolled), $15.00; Yearbook, $45.00; HOSA (if enrolled in med. tech.), $25.00; Class Dues (Mandatory), $10.00; Spanish workbooks (if enrolled), $10.00; Lunches (Grades 7-12) , $2.00 per lunch; Prairie League, $10.00; 4th hour Geometry, $6.00 licensing fee
All students participating in any school activity, sports, band, knowledge bowl etc need to pay the activity fee and the class dues.  The yearbook is optional.  Girls interested in joining the girls club, Prairie League, need also pay $10 dues at the time of registration.  All activity fees must be paid before participation in extracurricular activities.
We have not changed our procedures for junior high students.  Junior high students will not have activity cards and will continue to be able to attend junior high activities without paying.  They will still need to pay to attend high school activities. Each junior high student will have to pay a soon to be determined fee for PE uniforms.
If you are a new junior/senior high school student, please call the high school counselor, Lydia Deiss 962-3901 to make an appointment to come in and register.  You may also come the afternoon of August 10th from 12:45-2:30.  You will need your immunization records and a certified birth certificate.
All student athletes grades 7, 9, 11, and first time athletes will need to have a new physical on file in the office before you can participate or practice in football, volleyball, cheerleading or any winter/spring sport. If you had your physical at St. Mary’s Clinic, we have your forms on file.  If you had it done somewhere else, please bring your completed physical forms to the office at the time of registration.
Also on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, there will be a mandatory meeting for all high school sports and cheerleading participants and their parents beginning at 7:00 PM in the high school cafeteria.  We will cover all paperwork and a notary will be available for permission to random drug test.  We will complete as much of the paperwork as possible that evening.
