Troop Scoop
On July 27-28, Troop 638 camped out at Fish Creek camp ground.
They set up camp, then went on a 5-mile bike ride. At the end of the five miles they had to track down our friend Allen in the brush. The boys had to look for sign in order to find out where he had gone. Allen has been working with our boys teaching them survival skills.
After returning to camp we fixed dinner and cleaned up. Earlier in the day the boys learned how to tell direction in the day and that night they learned a little about the stars and how to tell direction in the night.
We also would like to welcome the Everett family to our troop. Keigan is a First Class Scout and is working toward Star Scout. He wasn’t sure what to think about the 5 mile bike ride, let alone the day we left when the boys rode their bikes from Fish Creek down to the stop sign by the old Forest Service building. They rode 15 miles total.
The boys also worked on knots and lashings to help them make a useful camp gadget. Our next activity is welcoming the Ride Idaho people. We are cooking them breakfast on Tuesday morning.
