Pucker up and get ready to hear some squealing at the Idaho County Fair.
For the third year in a row, one lucky winner will get to kiss a pig at the livestock sale Saturday, Aug. 18.
One serendipitous leader from an Idaho County 4-H club will be chosen to kiss the grand champion pig. The candidates are Tim Schumacher of Greencreek Active 4-H Workers, Butch Spencer of Keuterville Livestock and Chad Paluh of Fenn Livestock.
Votes for the candidates can be purchased at the Citizens Washington Focus booth during the fair. The candidate with the most votes by Saturday at 1 p.m. will be the winner. Participants cast votes with donations. All donations go toward the CWF 4-H project.
The winner will be announced during the livestock sale when the grand champion pig comes into the sale ring. The winner will kiss the pig before it is sold.
“We had wonderful community support for this fun event last year and we look forward to seeing who the lucky person to pucker for a pig will be this year,” said 4-H program manager Susie Heckman. “Everyone who wants to see one of these 4-H leading men kiss a pig is encouraged to place a vote.”
