Youth Ministry activities for September
Dear Youth,
As I sit here in my office, I look out the window and still see, feel, and hear the many signs of summer; the warm air, the green trees, the birds flying overhead, the sounds of kids playing.  I smile as I reminisce of the happiness these beautiful summer days bring.  It’s always hard to say good-bye to the freedom summer provides, but I’ve come to learn with every good-bye comes the invitation for newness and growth. It is here, in the month of September that you are invited to join us in a month full of praise, worship, food, fasting, fun, learning, and growing.
On Sept. 5th the High School Peer Ministers will meet at the OMG room at 7:00 p.m. to discuss and plan the upcoming REACH meetings. Please be present if you were a Peer Minister last year or interested in being one this year.  We will start our month with a time to worship the Lord by attending Adoration @ 10:00 p.m. @ St Mary’s Church on the first Friday of the month, Sept 7th. All High School and Jr. High youth are encouraged to take a few minutes out of their evening to spend with the Lord.
On Sept. 10th the small group Bible study group will meet in Debbie’s office at 6:30 for pizza and continue our study in the Book of Kings. Our study will begin at 7:00 p.m..  Please join us if you attended last year.  All newcomers are welcome!  All adult leaders who are interested in helping assess and plan the Youth Ministry process for the upcoming school year are invited to attend a meeting at the OMG @ 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 12th.  Everyone is welcome!  Your input and presence is greatly appreciated!
On Wednesday, Sept 19th all Jr. High and High School youth are invited to the OMG room for an evening of planning and discussion.  Your input as to what you want to learn, do, and participate in throughout the upcoming school year is important and essential for good planning.  We will begin the night at 6:30 with a half an hour of praise and worship.  At 7:00 p.m. we will meet to discuss your ideas.  Food and drinks will be provided and remember your presence is greatly needed.   On Sept 21st and 22nd I will be attending the Fall Conference in Moscow. Please pray for all of our catechists and lay people who will be attending this conference throughout the state of Idaho.
On Monday, Sept 24th our small group Bible study will resume their study at Debbie’s office at 7:00 p.m.  Please bring your Bibles.  We will have pizza at 6:30.  All are welcome.  On Wed. Sept 26th, Joe and Angela Seubert, our youth ministry representatives will be hosting our “Back to School Bash” in the St. Mary’s Church parking lot @ 7:00 p.m.  We will have fire, food, and music.  All families and youth throughout the parishes are invited and encouraged to attend.  Angela is cooking so you know it’s going to be good!  This opportunity provides a great avenue to share your summer stories and rejoice over the greatness of beginning a new school year.  Bring your lawn chair and join in the fun! On Sept 29th we will begin our 30 hour Fast at Keuterville @ 10:00 p.m.  All youth who plan on attending must have filled out a registration and health form.  You must also have collected at least $30.00 for your fasting pledge.  We will continue the Fast into Sunday where we attend and host the 8:00 a.m. Youth Mass at St. Mary’s parish.  Following the Youth Mass, the Tri-Parish youth ministry will host a meal for the community and fasters.  All proceeds collected during this weekend will go to Catholic Relief Services and World Vision.  Please contact Debbie for registration forms and sign up.  1-208-962-3214 (work) 1-208-553-5837 (cell)
May the blessings of this new season fill you with hope and peace and lead you to growth and newness!  See you in September!
In Christ,
Debbie Chicane
