Scouts earn Citizenship awards
The Cub Scout core value for the month of November is Citizenship.  The Bear and Webelos Scouts have been working very hard on earning their Citizenship Belt Loop and Pin.  Besides helping with the Veterans day ceremony, the flag retirement and the Scouting for Food drive we had a few other requirements.
On Tuesday Nov. 27 we visited with a man who came to America from Sicily and is a naturalized citizen.  The boys all had a list of questions to ask and learned a lot from him.  We learned to work hard and that we are so blessed to be citizens of this great country.
On Thursday Nov. 29th we made a trip to the Courthouse in Grangeville.  While there we talked with Leigh Zimmerman who is a court clerk.  We learned about our responsibilities as citizens to serve on a jury and the jobs of the District and Magistrate Judges. We also visited with Kathy Ackerman who is the County Auditor.  She explained to us how the County government works and the jobs of all the elected officials.  We finished our visit to Grangeville with a drive-by of the City Park to look at the lights, and a stop at Zip Trip for hot cocoa and tacos.
