Court of Honor held
On December 10 a Court of Honor was held for several scouts in our troop, plus other awards.
Color Guard began our ceremony followed by a welcome by Anthony Karel and prayer by Hunter Chaffee. We gathered and had fellowship with others as we enjoyed a good meal.
Moving on, Dan Karel began the ceremony of the Trail to First Class. He began with asking Kevin  Tillinghast to come forward to receive his Tenderfoot rank, then his 2nd Class rank.
Tate Berdoy was asked to come forward with his mom Lesa Berdoy. Tate received his 2nd Class pin.
Next we moved up in rank to First Class. Jared Coppernoll and his mom Aleta, Hunter Chaffee and mom Shari, Anthony Karel and mom Laurie and Carson Schmidt and mom Rhonda came forward to receive their First Class pin and certificate. This is a big step for these boys and their families. They have been on a long journey for over a year working on requirements that got them this far. Starting out from being a Tenderfoot, then 2nd Class and now First Class. We are very proud of them for sticking with the Scouting program and learning along the way.
The boys also received Veterans Day badges, Flag Retirement badges, Fireman Chit badges, popcorn awards and Carson Schmidt received a Recruiter badge for inviting a boy to join Scouts.
In closing the boys retired the flags and the service patrol cleaned up.
Our last meeting of 2012 was Monday, Dec. 17. If your son is interested in Scouting let one of the Scout families know. You can join at any time.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
