Youth ministry events for April
Dear Youth,
He is risen, Alleluia!  April brings with it a time for rejoicing and an invitation for renewal and active response.  It is in this mindset that you are invited to attend our youth ministry activities as we embrace the sacredness of this holy season.
During our second week of April we will meet on April 10th for our themed movie night.  We will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the OMG, popcorn and pop will be provided!  Our movie will be “Up”.  You are encouraged to dress according to the theme and remember prizes will be awarded.  When we are renewed by community through laughter, conversation, and fun, the invitation for Christ’s presence becomes very real! All Jr. High and High School are invited to this activity.
On April 17th we will continue our small group Bible study.  Please meet at Debbie’s office at 6:30 for pizza.  Our study will go from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and we will finish with a walk.  Sharing God’s word brings us understanding, thus opens our hearts to knowing about the God we so loving profess.
The weekend of April 20th –21st brings with it the invitation to grow in “Courageous Conversion”.  The north Central Deanery will be hosting a Middle School Retreat at Lapwai parish hall beginning at 9:30 a.m. on April 20th.  The REACH team from Montana will be leading the retreat.  The cost is $35.00 for Middle school and $25.00 for High School leaders.  You may pick up forms for this great opportunity from St. Mary’s parish office, Summit Academy school office, or from the teachers at the High School Prairie Faith Formation program.  All Jr. High and High School youth are invited and encouraged to attend.  (We will ask the High School youth to help lead certain aspects of the retreat).  All forms and money is due to Debbie by April 18th at the very latest!  Come and join us as we like St. Paul experience the opportunity for a “Courageous Conversion”.
We will not have any youth event this week because I will be in Coeur d’Alene on Wed. with my husband.  Please pray for us as he finds out the results from his 6-week heart recovery period.  If someone wants to take the youth bowling in Craigmont this week please let me know.  I will help arrange the event.  It’s a lot of fun and great opportunity for adult and youth community building.  Please let me know if you are interested in helping!
On April 28th the Confirmation class will meet at the High School Peace building at 7:00 p.m.  Please bring your folders, assignments, and journals.  We also need someone to bring cookies, so if you haven’t brought cookies this year, I would appreciate it if you could bring some!
We have so much to be grateful for as we live our days in the thought of the gift of the resurrected Christ.  In this grateful attitude we cannot sit, we much respond and it is here that this Christ becomes alive in our very being and in everything we do.  Rejoice, again I say rejoice!
With Gratitude,
Debbie Chicane
