Chandler is employee of the month
Kendra Chandler, CNA was awarded the honor of being named the December Employee of the Month for St. Mary’s Hospital. Kendra began working for SMH in August of 2012 As a CNA; Kendra’s main job responsibility is taking care of patients which includes; monitoring vital signs, serving meals trays and helping with their personal hygiene. She also gets to help with the newborns; performing hearing screenings, getting the information for their birth certificates, getting their footprints and taking their photos. “Kendra has a wonderful attitude, she is kind to the patients and goes out of her way to meet their needs,” commented a co-worker. “She also has a positive influence on other staff members; she was overheard telling a new hire to work hard, be positive and willing to help. I believe she could be a poster child for good work ethics. Patients and their families are made to feel special and they believe Kendra truly cares about them and their health problems.” When asked what she likes best about being a nurse’s aide at SMH Kendra responded, “Being able to help make a difference in the lives of other people and watching as our patients accomplish things that they never thought they could accomplish. I am a people person and I love interacting with all sorts of people. I also hope my skills will allow me to help take care of my family when the time comes that they need help.” In her spare time; Kendra enjoys riding her 4 wheeler, hunting, swimming and playing card games. Kendra and her husband Ronnie got married this past June and are looking forward to starting a family in the future.
