VFW turkey shoot is held
The annual VFW Turkey Shoot took place Saturday night, Nov. 23, at the Keuterville Pub & Grub with 72 people participating. The dice started flying at 6:29PM with high rolls winning a turkey or ham and low rolls winning a game hen.
The dice were hot for John and Sherry Crotinger from Grangeville, who came away with 8 wins. Jim Poxleitner and Ray Farmer were also big winners with high rolls on 3 games each.
Players were surprised when, for the last game, the 26 pound turkey wasn’t frozen but walked in the door followed by its owner, Charlie Poxleitner. After a short perp walk the live bird was excused and the real 26 pounder was placed on the table. 58 people tried their best for the high roll and as it turned out the big winner was, ironically, Charlie Poxleitner.
On behalf of the members of the Richard Jacobs VFW Post 4902, I’d like to thank Linda and Dewey Elliott, proprietors of the Keuterville Pub & Grub, for hosting this event and also everyone else who participated in this fund raising effort.
