Myca Evans has been chosen as the July Employee of the Month for St. Mary’s Hospital. Evans was described by a co-worker as, “thorough, hardworking and fun to work with”. 
Evansis a Certified Nurses’ Aid and has worked for SMH since 2007. In 2012 she became an Advanced EMT and she also works as a Unit Coordinator. “Myca is definitely someone I look up to working here at SMH,” said a co-worker. “She makes herself available to me and other employees when we need a hand or have a question. She takes extra time to make sure patients have the best care she can provide. Last but not least; Myca is a joy to work with, she always shows up to work full of energy and with a great attitude.” As a CNA; Myca’s main job is patient care; she takes vital signs and assists patients with their needs. As a Unit Coordinator; Myca admits patients and inputs doctor’s orders along with other clerical duties. As an Advanced EMT she performs pre-hospital medical care. “When the tone goes off, I jump and run,” replied Evans. “I have always been interested in the medical field,” commented Evans. “I enjoy helping people and the satisfaction I feel from helping our patients is so rewarding. I love the people I work with; it truly feels as if we are a family. And I want to give a ‘Shout Out’ to my night shift peeps; we have an amazing team.” In 2005 Myca received her CNA license while working at Grangeville Health and she received her Advanced EMT in July of 2012 at SMH under the instruction of Charles Butler; she said Charles was her mentor. “I enjoy spending time with my family; whether we are playing Yahtzee or cards or just watching movies…family time is my favorite,” said Myca. Myca’s family includes three daughters, one granddaughter and her dog. |
