Night shoot starts
Cottonwood Gun Club’s Annual Night Shoot started off with some very strong scores.  The weather was clear and cool.  For those of you who do not know what the night shoot is about, let me explain.  A team or squad consists of five shooters. Each team shoots from the 16 yard line.  Based on the total of all the shooters scores on the 16 yard, they then move back to a different yardage to shoot what is called the handicap.  Therefore, the better the cumulative score the farther back you shoot your handicap.  Both scores are then added together to get a team score.  If every member shot perfect 25’s on both the 16 yd and the handicap, the team would have a score of 250.  The teams meet every Wednesday night at the Cottonwood Gun Club for six weeks.  At the end of the six weeks, the team with the highest cumulative score wins.
With twelve teams competing, Riener’s Grocery has the number one spot with a score of 217.  Second place with a score of 208 is Camas Gravel followed closely by Winchester Gun Club with a 204.  This week’s leading individual is Rod Behler with a 48. Scott Jungert is in second with a 47 and a three way tie with 46 between Gary Riener, Tim Schumacher, and Brent Uhlorn.
If you are interested in learning more about this fun sport, come on out and watch what’s happening.  Club house opens at 6:00 and shooting starts at 6:30.
