Busy month set for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth in Christ,
As one season turns into another we reflect upon the blessings both past and present.  It is a time to be grateful for all that God has given us.  Our response is important; therefore you are invited to join us during this special time as our youth group gathers to focus on being thankful through prayer, work, learning, socials, retreats and Christian service.
We begin our journey of gratitude by hosting a Spiritual retreat for our Jr. High youth. Beth Dinning will be leading a retreat at Keuterville hall on Nov. 1st and 2nd.  The retreat begins at 10:00 a.m.  You must pick up a retreat flyer and have filled out a parish registration form prior to the retreat.  Please contact Debbie or Beth for more information.
The High School REACH team is planning a great Thanksgiving event for the JR. High and High School youth.  They will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 5th to begin the planning process. I will give you a hint…You loved doing this activity when you were very young and its all about sharing!! I can’t tell you anymore, you just have to join us on our special day of gratitude.
Prairie is out of school on Nov. 7th so guess what? I need your help for a couple hours, weather permitting. I know it’s late but we need to get our part of the highway cleaned up before winter, so guess what we’re doing?  High School youth and Jr. High youth are asked to please help clean our adopted highway just outside of Cottonwood.  We will meet in my office at 10:30 so you have a little time to sleep in and from there we will begin our cleaning adventure.  Please note, dress for the weather, if it’s pouring rain we will not do the cleanup, and after we are finished I will take you all to Subway for a sandwich for your hard work!  Bribery always works! Any adults interested in helping in this great adventure are always welcome.
Our Confirmation youth will meet on at CEC Building at 7:00 on Nov. 9th at 7:00 p.m.  Please remember to bring your commitment form and your $35.00 so I can order your books.  I am so excited about this new program and look forward to our time together.
On Nov. 10th at 7:00 our small group Bible study will meet as we continue to explore the Book of Ruth.  We will meet for pizza at 6:30, study at 7:00, and go for a walk at 8:00.  All High School youth are invited and encouraged to attend.  On Nov. 12 the High School youth will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the OMG room to plan for our Thanksgiving Basket Delivery.  This planning night is a great opportunity for us to give back to the people in our community or help those in need.
On Nov. 15th and 16th the High School youth are invited to our annual North Central Deanery Leadership Retreat at “All Saint’s” in Lewiston.  If you plan on attending you will need to pick up a flyer and fill out a parish registration form prior to attending.  You can get these from the parish office, Debbie, or Summit Academy.  This is a great opportunity to grow deeper in your faith and continue your walk with Jesus.  Please let Debbie know if you are planning to attend ASAP so I can order your shirt.  We will leave from St. Mary’s parking at 9:00 a.m.  and return Sunday before Noon.
On November 19th the High School Peer Ministers are hosting the REACH session for the Jr. High and High School Youth at the OMG @ 7:00p.m..  All’s I can say is it’s going to be a night that brings back great memories and will definitely reflect gratitude, community, and a heart for sharing.  We hope you can join us and bring your friends!
Our second Confirmation class will take place on Nov. 23rd at the CEC building at 7:00 p.m.  Please bring your books and any paperwork or money that is due. Thank you !
On Monday, Nov. 25th we will meet at the OMG at 5:30 to put our Thanksgiving baskets together.  Please remember to bring your assigned items.  It’s a night of blessing, hope and gratitude. We are given the honor to share what God has so graciously given us.  Thank you Lord!
Our time together this month has many dimensions and God is present in them all.  Every time we gather, share, work, plan, worship, celebrate, or serve in the name of the Lord he is there.  So let’s move with hearts of love,  being Christ’ hand, heart, and feet during this month of thankfulness and gratitude.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I are so grateful for you!~
With a Heart of Gratitude,
Debbie Chicane
