Spooktacular draws over 100
Over 100 people turned out for the Halloween Spooktakular hands-on science night at Prairie Elementary School last Wednesday, October 29th.
The event was hosted by GEAR UP, high school science teacher, Elizabeth McLeod, and the Physical Science class.
The evening started out with a haystack dinner and Mrs. McLeod presented a couple exciting experiments.  The activity transitioned into the gym where the Freshmen supervised 12 science stations.  Families could make their own slime, candy corn catapults, and "screaming" balloons (Google it!).  They also experienced polymers, chromatography and lots of other fun science.  A big thank you to Mrs. McLeod for all her time and effort putting this event on.  And thanks to everyone who came.
