16 of Prairie's 26 team state championships have come in last 8 years
With the Lewiston Tribune featuring the 5 state team championships Prairie has won in the past 9 months we thought we’d look at what a run it has been over the past 8 years.
Prairie has 26 team state championships in their history with an amazing 16 of those coming in just the last 8 years.
Prior to 2006 Prairie had won 7 state championships in girls basketball, 1 in boys basketball and 2 in girls track.
Starting with the baseball state championship in 2006 Prairie has won 3 state baseball championships, 5 state softball championships, 2 each in boys basketball, girls basketball and football and 1 each in girls track and volleyball.
16 state championships in 7 different sports in just the past 8 years.
Up until 2006 male teams at Prairie had just the 1982 state basketball title to show for their efforts. From 2006 until last month’s state football title they have added 3 baseball titles, and 2 each in football and basketball.
Lucas Arnzen got into the game on offense in the fourth quarter for the first time since leaving the Senior Night game against Kamiah with an injured shoulder. He gained 36 yards on this catch.
