Williams is employee of the month
“Thank you all so much for awarding me as EOTM; it is much easier for me to give than receive however; so it is Kelly Williams.with a humble heart I accept this honor,” commented Kelly Williams after she was informed of receiving the EOTM honor for the second time.  “I am privileged to work with awesome providers.  I would like to extend a special thank you to our veteran providers who literally built this facility and dedicated their lives for this place.  I am further blessed to work and guide an awesome admitting team, you all help me more than you know and I consider you family whether you want to be or not.  We have a hardworking, dedicated workforce here and I feel each one of you should receive this award, thank you all.”
Kelly began working for SMH in 2004 as an Admitting Clerk and was promoted to Assistant Clinic Manager in June of 2012 and become Admit Manager in March of 2013.“I feel more like a team leader, with a bit more responsibility, than a boss,” said Kelly.  “I love working side by side with my employees.”
Kelly’s many duties include overseeing and managing the clinic and hospital admissions staff, answering phones, assisting with patient and employee concerns, attending meetings, training new employees and Kelly also works on the clinic schedules for both the providers and admitting staff.
Kelly graduated from Nezperce High School, attended North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene and worked as a legal secretary for 24 years prior to joining the Cottonwood Clinic staff.   Kelly felt after 24 years as a legal secretary she wanted a change, she also feels her job as a legal secretary has helped tremendously with her current job position.
“I love my co-workers, the providers and our patients;” replied Kelly when asked what she likes the most about her job.  “I love being able to joke and lighten the mood.  I love the babies and our older patients.  The old timers have earned the right to complain, but they don’t.”
When not answering phones, working on schedules or solving problems at work; Kelly is busy helping her husband Wally on their ranch raising 100 head of cattle. “Not necessarily a hobby, more of a job, but something that keeps me sane,” commented Kelly when asked about her family and hobbies.  “I love spending time with my family; they are the most important thing in my life. I enjoy volleyball, camping and fishing and I also love riding horses and moving cattle.”
In addition to her husband Wally of 24 years, Kelly’s family consists of three children; Dana (Scott) Crow, Cody (Jessica) Young and Wyatt (and very soon to be MaKayla) Williams.  She also has 4½ grandchildren, Payton, Gage and Rhett Crow and Layton Young and his little brother or sister due July 11th.
“I can’t say enough about family I am blessed with a great family and extended family.  I love spending time with both family and good friends,” said Kelly.
Kelly is only the second employee to receive this honor more than once; Kevin Conger the former Dietary Manager was the other two-time Employee of the Month honoree.
According to a co-worker; “Kelly is always positive, she is constantly trying to improve how things are done and she supports her staff.  She goes the extra distance for our patients and fellow employees; she keeps the environment professional and caring; she is a true asset to SMH.”
