From the Police Chief
Well, seems that the IRS phone scams are increasing again.  I've got four calls in the last week from folks who've had the "IRS" call them and state they will be filing lawsuits against the people if they don't send a check.  I have attempted to call the number back, and got a simple computer message that their inbox is full, which is an indication this may have came from a cell phone.
According to one report, there were over 90.000 complaints and $5 million lost due to fraud from January through August 2014.

The IRS also request that you contact them if you receive a fraud call.  If you get a call that you believe to be a part of this scam, the IRS urges you call 1-800-366-4484 to report the incident.
I hope this information helps people in avoiding this ongoing scam.
