Pirates rout Potlatch
When you have the unbeaten in league first place team playing the winless in league last place team you get something like Prairie’s 76-13 win over Potlatch at Cottonwood Thursday, Jan. 15.
Prairie raced out to a 34-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and they led 60-8 at halftime after a 26-2 second quarter.
Prairie scored 24 baskets in the first half with assists on 19 of those.
Prairie eased off in the second half and gave the bench players a lot of the playing time as they outscored Potlatch 12-4 in the third quarter and 4-1 in a running clock fourth quarter.
Prairie had 4 players score in double figures led by Lucas Arnzen with 18 points. Rhett Schlader scored 14 and Terran Peery and Tanner Ross scored 13 each. Jake Bruner scored 8, Calvin Hinkelman 5, Bryson Higgins 3 and Brandon Higgins 2.
Prairie improves to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in league play.
The JV team also won 66-40.
