Craigmont June Picnic is this weekend
The annual Craigmont June Picnic is taking place this weekend in Craigmont, Idaho.
This year’s theme is “Country Living, Past and Present.”
Action gets started on Friday, June 26 with the horseshoe tournament at the City Park starting at 3 p.m.
There will be a retirement party for longtime Highland teacher Dorothy Tiede at 3 p.m. at Highland School.
The Craigmont Lions Famous Burger Barn opens for business at 5 p.m. on Main Street.
Also at 5 p.m. on Main Street is the Bacon Wheel sponsored by Winchester Gun Club.
At 5:30 p.m. on Main St. are the Goldfish Races sponsored by the Highland FFA chapter.
At 6 p.m. the Haight Classic 3 on 3 basketball tournament for ages 19 and up takes place on Main St. The tournament for under 19 will start at 1 p.m. Saturday at the high school gym with check-in at 12:30 p.m.
The Ugly Contest will be taking place at Craigmont Hardware at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s events get started with a breakfast put on by the Highland FFA Chapter at 7 a.m. at Woody’s on Main Street.
The Fun Run/Walk starts at 8 a.m. at the High School with registration starting at 7:30 a.m.
The Lions Club Burger Barn reopens at 9 a.m.
Prairie Imperial Bowl will have a “Bowling Strikes for Prizes” event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The June Picnic Parade starts at 10 a.m. Registrations starts at 8 a.m.
There will be a Show and Shine after the parade at the city Park.
Concessions open at 11 a.m.
The Ping Pong Ball Drop will be at 11:45 a.m. at the City park.
Kids Races start at noon at the City Park.
Also starting at noon at the City Park is the American Legion Barbecue.
The Lip Sync Contest runs from noon to 2 p.m. at the Band Shell.
The Haight Classic 3 on 3 Basketball takes place at the High School starting at 1 p.m. with a 12:30 p.m. check-in.
There will be Disc Golf at the City Park starting at 1 p.m.
The Horseshoe Tournament continues starting at 2 p.m. at the city park.
The Egg Toss will be at 4:30 p.m. on Main Street. Registration starts at 3:45.
There will be a Lions Burger Eating Contest at 5:30 p.m. at the Burger Wagon with registration starting at 5 p.m.
The Street Dance starts at 7 p.m. with “Stoning Stephen” providing the music.
The June Picnic prize drawing takes place at 8:30 p.m.
The Lions Club Burger Barn will also be open Sunday morning starting at 9 a.m. but will move down to the City Park.
Sunday’s only event is the ATV Treasure Hunt with registration to start at 11:30 a.m. at the City park.
