Sewn with Love

Handmade gifts are all the rage and you'll be ready with yours when you complete a project of sewn placemats or a table runner in this two session class. Although everyone will make the same design, the choice of fabric will be yours.  Students must bring their own sewing machine and will pay a supply fee to the instructor based on the project and fabric chosen.
Heavenly Scent – A Soap Making Primer

Create beautiful cold-process soap the way Grandma made it.  Use updated methods and ingredients, learn safety & allergy tips, and how to compose your soap.  Learn how to mix, stir, fragrance, mold and trim the finished product.  Make bars of soap to take home for yourself or as gifts.  Lunch is included!
From Plants to Tinctures, Tonics & Salves
Sat. 11/21; 9am-2:30pm
By: Sr. Agnes Reichlin; Cost: $40
At: Monastery of St. Gertrude
In this class, you will pick rose hips, prepare them and begin the process of making a tincture rich in Vitamin C that you can take home with you.  We will also discuss other plants, tonics and tinctures that promote good health.  Salve-making will be discussed as time allows.  Dinner at noon (included in fee) is in the Monastery dining room.
