Family fun science night set for Tuesday
All students (K-12) and their families are invited to join us for a fun Family Science Night next Tuesday, November 3rd at Prairie High School in conjunction with parent-teacher conferencing. Haystacks will be served from 5 to 5:30 pm. Fun, hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities will be available for students to explore with their parents from 5:30 to 7pm.  This fun event is hosted by the Prairie staff and GEAR UP (a college and career readiness grant).
You will have the opportunity to build a "car" out of a balloon, have a stacking cups race, build and test paper rockets and paper airplanes, play with electricity, build a tower and other fun activities. There will be friendly competitions between family teams and all who participate will be entered to win a Kindle Fire!  ALL families are invited.  Contact Loretta Poxleitner at poxleitnerl@sd242.org with questions.  Please join us to see just how fun science can be!
