Youth Ministry events for November
Dear Youth in Christ,
Our hearts are filled with gratitude at the blessings that surround us everyday as we approach the month of November. You are invited to celebrate the blessings we have been given through growing in your own faith and responding in this invitation through the act of giving; giving of your time, giving of you self, and giving to others. Please join us as we come together to plan and deliver Thanksgiving baskets, appreciate and enjoy each other at our own Thanksgiving feast, grow in our faith through our Confirmation classes, learn about God through our small group Catholic question and answer session, and challenge each other at our small group Steubenville posse gathering. Each of these moments of intentional discipleship change who we are and help us move forward as young people filled with blessing and hope.
On Nov. 4th all High School youth are invited to the OMG at 7 p.m. to plan the Thanksgiving basket delivery. Please join us as we prepare to share our blessings with those around us. Your input and presence is greatly needed and appreciated.
All Confirmation youth will meet at the CEC at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8th to begin the Confirmation journey. Come Holy Spirit!
On Nov. 9th our Steubenville posse, High School youth will be at the OMG at 6:45 p.m. We will begin the session with a simple dinner. Jim Chmelik will be leading us as we delve into another video by Bob Rice. Please remember your challenge from last month as we step forward in becoming stronger disciples in our faith. Be the change you want to see! Our session will go from 7:15 to 8:15. We can’t wait to see you and remember to invite your friends!
Another planning night for the High School youth is set for Nov. 11th at the OMG youth room at 7 p.m. We will be planning our annual Thanksgiving feast. Please be present because your ideas and input are necessary to make this an outstanding celebration. The High School youth will be hosting the Jr. High so this event has to be an amazing response to the blessings we’ve received!
On Nov. 16th the adult leadership team who attended the training and renewal in Moscow will meet at the OMG at 7:00 to give input and share ideas learned from the gathering. Your presence is greatly appreciated!
The Jr. high and High School youth will be having a Thanksgiving feast at the CEC on Nov. 17th at 6:30 p.m. This gathering is one of appreciation and blessing as we come together to celebrate all that God has given us!
From Nov. 18th through Nov. 22nd I will be in Indianapolis at the National Convention for Youth Ministry along with 4 of our North Central Deanery youth and 2 youth from the Northern Deanery. The diocese selected me along with another Youth Minister from the North to take these young people to this convention as a means of creating a strong leadership team for ICYC. I am so much honored to be a part of this journey and ask that you please pray for all of us as we travel to Indiana. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.
Let the blessings begin! We will be delivering Thanksgiving baskets on Nov. 23rd. Please bring all of your promised items for the baskets and be present at the OMG at 5:30 p.m. to begin putting boxes and baskets together. This is such a great opportunity to give back to the community and share our gifts. If anyone would like to contribute to our endeavors through food or monetary donations we would greatly appreciate it.
Nov. Nov. 29th our Confirmation class will meet at the CEC at 7:00 p.m. Please remember to bring your books!
Let us always be grateful for what is before us. Let us especially be thankful this November as we look at each day and see all that God has given us. Happy Thanksgiving to all and may your day be filled with family, food and tons of fun!
With a grateful heart,
Debbie
