Something to make a vet feel proud
Joe Riener, a 20 year veteran of the US Air Force, saw something Easter Sunday that made him feel pride in his country.
He saw someone about to make a left turn from Main Street on to King St. suddenly change their mind and head for Doreen’s. The driver, a young man dressed in his finest suit for Easter, jumped out and picked up a U.S. flag normally displayed in front of Doreen’s that had fallen to the ground and put it back in the mount. He then jumped back in his rig and headed up King Street.
Riener later found out it was Will Schlader, who with his wife Jess, was headed for Easter services at St. Mary’s Church.
