Sister Mary's Children fundraiser set for Nov. 5
Sister Mary’s Children (SMC) plans a night of celebration of the life of Sister Mary Paule’ Tacke as well as celebrating their status as a 501(c) 3 Public Charity. Along with the celebration, there will be a fundraiser for the projects that were dear to Sister’s heart. These include the 2 orphanages that she established as well as the training center for young adults.
The celebration is set for Saturday, Nov. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Greencreek Community Hall. Tickets are $10 each. All ages welcome.
Sister Mary Paule’ Tacke was a native of Cottonwood, Idaho. Her life’s work was to care for abandoned children in South Africa. Sister believed wholeheartedly that education is the key to changing lives for a lifetime. It is the goal of SMC to continue to care for and educate those that she began caring for so many years ago.
Lindsay Creek Vineyards has generously donated the spotlight auction item: a private Barrel Tasting for 10 SMC supporters! The Barrel Tasting will be 2 auction items. One auction item will be a barrel tasting for 6 people and the 2nd auction item for 4 people. This is an amazing opportunity to be introduced to Lindsay Creek Vineyards finest wines right from the source while enjoying appetizers, breathtaking views, and time with Lindsay Creek Vineyards’ winemakers.
Other auction items include framed original paintings by the children at the orphanage. Each painting has a picture of the child on the back. There will also be handmade African jewelry created by the young trainees at Ikhwezi Lokusa Rehabilitation and Development Society.
The evening will come alive with music by The Swing Notes playing Big Band Jazz. Some local members include Doug McIntosh, Art McIntosh, Wendy Lindsley, and Chris Cowan as well as many other members. Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy the music of The Swing Notes!
Each ticket includes potato bar, salad, dessert, an authentic South African dish, and 1 drink ticket for adults.
Please join us for a wonderful evening with friends, food, and great music.
