It was a big Christmas weekend for Ralph and Debbie Stubbers. Not only were the kids home for Christmas, they received a Century Farm certificate and plaque from the Idaho State Historical Society (ISHS), the Idaho Department of Agriculture and the Governor’s office. The award is given to a family that has held its farm in the family for 100 or more years. So far they have recognized over 400 Century Farms in Idaho.  Earl Bennett of Genesee had the privilege of officiating the ceremony on behalf of the ISHS. He said it is the first such award he has given on Christmas day. IDs are 1--David Stubbers, 2--Juliana DeBlois, 3--Aidan DeBlois,  4--Jason Stubbers, 5--Heidi McRoberts , 6--Debbie Stubbers, 7--James Stubbers, 8--Rachel Stubbers, 9--Gerard DeBlois,  10--Anna DeBlois, 11--Lydia McRoberts, 12--Sydney McRoberts, 13--Ralph Stubbers, 14--Craig Stubbers. You can get an idea how much snow we’ve had by the size of the pile on the west end of The Tire Guy lot. As you can see the top of the pile isn’t far from the bottom of the candy cane Christmas decoration on the pole. And despite the size of the pile there was still a good size berm down the middle of Main Street which was a good 2+ feet high and 4-5 feet wide (berm was removed by ITD on Wednesday). The photos above and below are more highlight photos from 2016. Above is shown the bus shop and garage built near the football field this past summer. Photos by Rene' Forsmann. Click on each photo for a larger view.

The BLM had a new office building built this past year. Above it is shown as the roof was being put on. Click on the photo for a larger view.

The new handicapped ramp and railing leading to the basement of the Community Hall. The ramp is to replace the elevator which never really worked like it was supposed to. The Hall also got a new kitchen in the basement as it was renovated to serve as the site for the Senior Citizen lunch program. Click on the photo for a larger view.

The Cottonwood Community Hall basement was upgraded to serve as a Senior Center. Part of the upgrade was redoing the kitchen in the basement. top photo is the east side of the kitchen while the lower photo shows the southwest corner. Click on each photo for a larger view.
