Booster Bulletin
As the first semester closes and the Spring Semester starts, the booster club continues on its mission of supporting our student athletes both on field and in the classroom.   One recent project that is up and being used is the safety mats at both ends of the High School gym.   The old ones after a solid 30 years were ready to come apart and with an up close look the stains and grime on them made it prime time to start fresh.
The coaches have been asked to review their programs and make a list of items for both short term and long term benefit to their programs.   A couple of items have been looked at or purchased.   The softball team will be using a new safety net to protect the pitcher during practices.  I have heard that the old one was making Mr. Martin and Mr. Wilson just a little scared to pitch to our power hitting softball team.   Coaches please continue to send in your lists as the booster club wants to support you and your teams for a successful future.
And here is a shout out to a couple of businesses who have launched some success with their sponsorship of the Hoene Hardware/ Harmon Agency Halftime shootout.   These two businesses have put up over $600 in payouts for those able to hit half court shots.  All proceeds from shooting have gone to the booster club.  Thank you for your generosity.
Teachers and staff at all of the Prairie Schools, the booster club would like to encourage you to look to us for things that may make a difference in the education of multiple students.   We like seeing requests for items that can be used for multiple years or for a bunch of students.   We recognize that not all teachers have needs that can be met by the booster club but we are open to any discussions and or ideas that you have.   Between Gear up and the Booster club our high school science department has advanced in recent years.  Giving more kids more opportunities to learn hands on concepts.   Thank you to all of our fantastic teaching team for your efforts.
It has been another great year on the athletic side, Football, Volleyball and Cross Country all making it to state.  And here comes two top notch basketball teams and some dedicated wrestlers who are all showing that Pirate pride.   It is hard to not be amazed at the success of our Prairie Schools and its athletes.
Speaking of Pirate Pride, the booster club still has some really nice Pirate Gear available.   Sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts and tee shirts along with a few more Stadium chairs.   Please contact  Cara Uhlenkott or Denise Uhlenkott or Linda Nida or Glenn Poxleitner to get yourself set up for the district tournaments and the spring sport season.   It’s nice to see so much Prairie colors and spirit in our community.
And that reminds me of one other great program that is doing amazing things.  If you have not been to a concert or to a high school game and heard our Jr high/ high school band, you are missing out.   This very young but very talented group is working hard to make our school proud.  Please support them in their quest to participate at the music festival in Moscow.    Keep up the great work.
In Closing, the booster club is always looking for more people who want to participate and make a difference.  Please join us at our monthly meeting.   If you have a great idea for the betterment of the school or something your feel will have a positive impact on our students, please speak up.  I wish you all a great spring semester and as always.    GO PIRATES!!!
