business in Cottonwood
A new business opened Monday, Jan. 30 in the former Coffee Mill in the Mini-Mall in Cottonwood. 
Veronica Johnson has opened C’est La V’s, a small café Veronica said the opening date is special to her since that was her late mother’s birthday. Her mother was her biggest influence. Opening her own food business is something she has always wanted to do after working for 34 years as a dental assistant, the last 18 in Grangeville. Veronica got her first taste of the restaurant business cleaning pots and pans when she was 10 for her grandmother’s little Mexican restaurant in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her grandmother, mother and mother-in-law Amy Johnson all were big influences in her love for cooking. Veronica says she has always enjoyed cooking and loves seeing a smile on someone’s face when they’re eating her cooking. C’est La V’s is not a typical sit-down restaurant. Since Veronica is a solo act she wanted to keep it simple. There are some chairs and small tables available but she does mostly take-out orders. She has daily specials and soups and a weekly salad special. Her first day’s special on Monday was sold out before noon even though her husband Rick thought she was making way too much of it and expected to have a bunch left over. She is looking to get a beer and wine license and hopes to be able to host things like birthdays, showers and also offer up as a meeting place. You can find her on Facebook, search for C’est La V’s.
