Crop and Conservation Tour set
The Prairie Area Crop and Conservation Tour is slated for Thursday, June 29.
The tour will begin with a hosted breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Craigmont Community Center in Craigmont. Ken Hart, UI Extension Educator, will present information about his recent work with farmer cooperatives in Africa.
Participants will board a tour bus at 8 a.m. Tour topics include spring wheat and barley varieties, pea and lentil varieties, spring/winter canola/rapeseed variety nurseries, winter wheat nurseries, and cover crops for the Camas Prairie. Speakers will include University of Idaho research and extension personnel. The tour will conclude by noon.
Participants are asked to pre-register by June 23 by calling the Lewis County Extension Office at 208-937-2311 to help us get a count for breakfast. Certified Crop Advisor and pesticide credits are applied for. 
The tour is presented in cooperation with University of Idaho extension, Lewis County Soil Conservation District, Lewis County Wheat Growers, Idaho/Lewis Crops Extension Advisory Committee, and Idaho County Grain Producers.
