Good sized crowd attends Greencreek 4th of July Celebration

It was a larger than usual crowd for breakfast this year at the Greencreek 4th of July Celebration.

John Schumacher, cowboy hat, served as auctioneer at Greencreek with helpers from left, Ben Schumacher, Don Schumacher and Aaron Hinkelman.

Apparently not one of the Egg Toss winners.

The Kiddie-Car Merry-Go-Round continues to be popular with the youngsters. Most of their parents also enjoyed the ride when they were younger.

Youngsters enjoy the smaller merry-go-round.

He may have taught his son too well as Eric Nuxoll was edged out for the Greencreek Watermelon Eating championship by his son with the red hair and yellow shirt.

From the facial expression on the young lady in the middle, it appears her egg didn’t survive intact.

The wheelbarrow race.

The 3-legged race saw its share of spills as the young ladies at right appear about to fall.

Eric Nuxoll and Ray Jentges appear headed for victory as Phil Nuxoll and his son, at right, appear headed for a spill.

Elizabeth Nuxoll, a music teacher at Clearwater Valley schools, sang “The Star Spangled Banner” before and “God Bless America” after the Quilts of Valor presentations at Greencreek.
