25th Raspberry Festival set for Sunday
Join in a day of friends, family, and fun at the 25th Annual Raspberry Festival on Sunday, August 6, at the Monastery of St. Gertrude, 465 Keuterville Road in Cottonwood, Idaho.
The day begins at 8 a.m. with a 10K Fun Run and 5K Walk that follows an out-and-back route on a quiet, paved country road. The stretch offers views of the Seven Devils mountains, Salmon River breaks, Gospel-Hump Wilderness Area, and the Camas Prairie, making the Raspberry Festival Fun Run one of the most scenic running/walking events in Idaho.The event will by chip-timed by Cyrus B. Hall, Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach of Lewis-Clark State College. You can register online at www.myraspberryfestival.org or on the morning of the event beginning at 7 a.m.
Raspberry Festival continues with a pancake breakfast, kids’ carnival, live music, arts and crafts fair, and Historical Museum and chapel tours. In addition, there will be a Community Education Corner. Stay fueled up with ice cold raspberry lemonade,grilled hamburgers and polish sausages, BBQ beef sandwiches, and raspberry shortcake.
For the second year in a row, Raspberry Festival will feature an art show! We are excited to display local creativity and celebrate the many talents in our community. The exhibit will be located in the Johanna Room of Spirit Center (big, red building just south of the main Monastery building). There is no entry fee and artists are responsible for any sales of their works. Please register at www.MyRaspberryFestival.org.
Raspberry Festival will also feature a new, used, and vintage sale that will include rocks, gems, stones, salt & pepper shakers, antique tools, vases, bottles, dolls, toys, and much more. There is also still time to enter the Show ‘n Shine Car, Truck, Bike, & Tractor Show where prizes will be awarded.
All proceeds for the Raspberry Festival benefit the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude. There is something for everyone!
