Members of the Central Idaho Quilters’ Guild are making plans for their 23rd Annual Quilt Show to be held in conjunction with Kamiah’s 81st Annual Free BBQ festivities. The show will be held at St. Catherine’s Church located at Idaho and 7th Streets in Kamiah. Show hours are Saturday, September 2nd from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday, September 3rd from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. We welcome entries from anyone who would like to share their quilts and /or quilted items. You are not limited on the number of entries you may enter, though if we have an unusual amount of entries, we will ask you to cut back and choose the ones you would like to enter. If you have an antique quilt you would like to share it must be at least 60 years old. Anyone wishing to obtain an entry form ahead of time may do so at the Kamiah Community Library, Northwest Freedom Credit Union in Kamiah and Kooskia, or by calling one of the numbers listed below. Entries will be accepted Wednesday, August 30th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Thursday, August 31st from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at St Catherine’s Church (at the side basement entrance across from the swimming pool.) NO ENTRIES will be accepted after 1:00 pm on Thursday to allow time for display setup. Utmost care will be taken with all entries. All items entered must be picked up at the close of the show on Sunday, September 3rd beginning at 4:00 pm unless prior arrangements have been made at the time of entry. For your protection ALL ITEMS MUST have a label attached on the back side of the item. The Central Idaho Quilters have again made a beautiful quilt that will be given away to some “lucky” person at the close of the show on Sunday. This year’s queen size quilt is called “Bear Paw”. Several other prizes will also be given away during the course of the show. Tickets are available from guild members at any time, Umpqua Bank, Northwest Freedom Credit Union in Kamiah & Kooskia, during the parade and at the quilt show. The entry form will also be available on the Kamiah Chamber of Commerce web site www.kamiahchamber.com under things to do/coming events No admission will be charged, however, donations will be accepted and appreciated. Your donation helps us to continue our numerous community services. Your donation will also give you a chance to win one of our great door prizes, many that were handcrafted by members of the guild. The show location is handicap accessible and air-conditioned for your convenience and comfort.
