for Nate Gentry
A Tacos and Taters benefit auction for Nathan Gentry will be held on Saturday, September 16th beginning at  4:00
p.m. at the Cottonwood Community Center.
Earlier this year, 39-year-old Nate Gentry of Cottonwood, learned that he had a brain tumor. After many tests and specialists, he underwent surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Fortunately, it proved to be benign. Nate’s employer, Bud’s Power Sports, has allowed him to take needed time off for recovery and to work when he can. At this time, Nate can work only a few hours a day before getting so tired that he has to go home. Nate has insurance. However, it had a $10,000 deductible and of course insurance doesn’t pay all the cost of medical expenses. Presently Nate is facing a stack of bills, and this is after the insurance has paid! There will be many more follow up appoints and possible another surgery. Even though Nate has a lot of big-boy “toys,” he never bought more than his income could handle. Now he is in the process of selling these toys so he can start paying on the accumulating medical bills. Some of his things will be on the auction on September 16th. Other items that will be auctioned include homemade quilts, tires from Les Schwab, baskets of hair care products, coffee, and other items, a Champaign brunch for eight, homemade salsa, T-shirts and caps, chainsaws, and beef jerky from Craigmont. A taco bar and a potato bar will be featured at the benefit so that attendees can enjoy supper, and there will be a variety of beverages served.
