October events for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth in Christ,
We are already entering the second month of school.  The days are getting cooler and we are beginning to settle into the busy Fall routine.  It is important in our scheduling that we remember that God wants to be a part of your plan.  As you look over the youth activities for October see what God may be saying to you as He invites you to grow deeper in your faith and in knowing Him.
We will begin the month by completing our 30 hour Fast.  The High School group who choose to fast for 30 hours for Catholic Relief Services will be finished after Mass on Oct. 1st.  I want to say great job everyone, you are making a difference in the larger world through your efforts!
On Oct. 4th at 7:00 p.m. at the OMG the Haiti team will meet to finalize their Spaghetti feed fundraiser.  All mission members are asked to attend.
I will be leaving on Oct. 5th to attend the Catholic Education conference in Boise.  I will be retuning on Sunday.
If you are in High School or Jr. High you are invited to attend Adoration at 10:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s. on Oct. 6th.   It is a great time to slow your life down and spend some time with the Lord.  You will be surprised how this time will change your life!
We will have our Jr. High Life night on Tuesday Oct. 10th at the OMG room.  We will begin at 6:30 with pizza, study at 7:00 and social at 8:00.  I would encourage all 7th and 8th graders to attend!
On Oct. 11th the Haiti team will be hosting a Spaghetti feed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the KC hall.   All Haiti team member please bring your assigned items!  This will be a perfect family night, and we thank you in advance for your support!
All adults, Jr. High and High School are invited to help clean the highway on Oct. 14th.  We will meet at Debbie’s office following the “Our Lady of Fatima” rosary and procession.  The procession starts at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, so I am anticipating starting the cleanup at 1:30.  We will follow the cleanup with a trip to Subway.  What a great way to spend the day, honoring our Blessed Mother and then serving our communities through roadside cleanup. I would love to get a group of adults to help us with this worthwhile service project!
On Oct. 15th at 10:00 a.m. all the Confirmation candidates that will be getting confirmed in 2018 are asked to attend a Blessing rite and mini retreat at St. Mary’s. the retreat will be held at the Catholic Ed building and will go from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  (Please make sure you sign up for this Confirmation year, signup sheets are at the entrances of all of the Church’s)
On Oct. 16th our High School small group that is studying the Mass will meet on Oct. 16th at the OMG, food at 6:30, study at 7:00 and social at 8:00.
On Oct. 18th the adult leadership team will meet at the OMG to review the upcoming youth ministry schedule.  Each core member is asked to bring 2 people.  Our night will be filled with planning and a little wine and cheese.  Thank you all for your “yes”.  It’s going to be a great night!
On Oct. 23rd the Youth Leadership team will meet at the OMG at 7:00 p.m. to begin our first study on, “How to teach a Bible Study”.  All youth who attended the leadership camp in Stanley are invited to attend.  This is our first session on making disciples out of disciples! We will meet monthly as we learn together!  (If you did not attend the summer camp and are interested in learning how to lead a Bible study, please contact me.)
On Oct 25th, the Jr. High and High school are invited for a night of trick or treating for canned food.   We will meet at the Omg youth room to prepare for our night. I will need 8 adult leaders to drive around town and 8 houses that will feed a group of kids dinner, so if you would be interested in helping in either of these areas, please let me know.  We will meet back at the OMG for dessert and a movie.   (Oh yeah, you are asked to dress up in costumes for this great event. There will be a prize for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place).
On Oct. 30 I am inviting all High School girls to join me on a night of “Radiance”.We will be reviewing and discussing articles in a Catholic magazine for girls.  What does it look like to be female, cool, and Catholic in the world today.  The night will be filled with great discussion so bring your friends, girls.  (Parents you can check this magazine out at Sunday Visitor it is called “Radiant”).
It’s going to be a great God filled October, please join us in this great adventure!
