Public meeting Thursday
A public meeting will be held Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Cottonwood Community Hall regarding flooding issues on Main Street in Cottonwood.
The City of Cottonwood is pursuing a FEMA grant to permanently fix the Cottonwood Creek culvert.
A new flow control structure would be installed to replace the existing culvert headwall.
The existing culvert will be rehabilitated to carry of the majority of the normal Cottonwood Creek flow.
A new 48 inch culvert would be installed within Main Street to convey peak flows and reduce the risk of creek flooding.
Anyone with any pictures of past flooding events are asked to email them to cottonwd@idaho.net or bring them to City Hall for scanning.
For more information, contact City Hall at 208-962-3231 or email cottonwd@idaho.net.
