Pirates to open against Ambrose
The Prairie boys basketball team will open State play Thursday, March 1 at 2 p.m. PST against District 3 champion Ambrose.
Ambrose has a 17-7 record and was co-champion of the Western Idaho League with Horseshoe Bend with a 10-1 league mark. Horseshoe Bend was eliminated in 2 games at District.
On Friday, Prairie will play either District 4 champion Valley, 17-5, or District 3 third place team Riverstone, 17-7. Those two schools play at 12:15 p.m. PST. If they beat Ambrose they will play at 5:15 p.m. PST on Friday and if they lose they will play at 12:15 p.m. PST on Friday.
In the other half of the bracket District 5-6 champion Grace, 16-6, will play District 4 runner-up Oakley, 13-10, at 5:15 p.m. PST, and District 2 champion Lapwai, 19-3, will play District 3 runner-up Liberty Charter, 18-6, at 7:30 p.m. PST.
Saturday’s schedule has the consolation final at 8:15 a.m. PST with the third place game at 10 a.m. PST. Both those games are at Vallivue. The championship game will be at 10:30 a.m. PST at the Idaho Center.
