The Prairie baseball team won 3 league baseball games and were well on the way to a fourth when rain halted it. They also lost a non-league game.
On Tuesday, April 10 they beat Lewis County 11-1 in five innings at Kooskia and were leading 12-0 in the second game when rain suspended it in the bottom of the fourth.
On Friday, April 13, Prairie lost a non-league game to Grangeville 0-10 at Kamiah.
On Saturday, April 14 they swept a doubleheader from Troy at Lewiston, 16-1 and 16-3.
All three completed league games were stopped after 5 innings on the 10-run mercy rule.

A double by Spencer Schumacher moved Berdoy, who had to tag in case the ball was caught, to third. Arnzen doubled to right scoring Berdoy with Schumacher having to tag at second just in case. Owen Anderson singled home Schumacher. He then stole second and both he and Arnzen scored on Jace Perrin’s single up the middle. Perrin stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored when Luke Schwartz reached on an error by the second baseman. That made it 6-0 after 1 inning.

Prairie added 4 more runs in the second. Berdoy looped a 1 out single to left, stole second and went to third on a throwing error by the catcher. He then scored on Schumacher’s ground out to first. Arnzen singled up the middle and got balked to second. Anderson walked and Perrin was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Nick Mager singled home Arnzen. A wild pitch moved up all 3 runners as Anderson scored. A walk by Lane Remacle reloaded the bases and another wild pitch allowed Perrin to score and make it 8-0.

Both runners scored when the shortstop’s throw to first got away for an error. Mager moved up to second on the throw home. It was back to Remacle as courtesy runner and he moved to third on Ross’ third bunt single of the game. Remacle scored on a short sacrifice fly by Berdoy that the shortstop made a juggling catch on as he was falling down. Troy thought Remacle left early at third but a tagging runner is allowed to advanced as soon as the fielder touches the ball, not once he makes the catch.
Ross scored when Schumacher swung over a ball in the dirt for strike 3 and had to be thrown out at first.
In the bottom of the third Sam Mager only got one batter out but got out of the inning with no runs scoring. He gave up a leadoff walk but picked the runner off on a steal attempt.
