HOSA students compete at State
Seventeen Prairie HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) students competed in the State HOSA Competition in Boise on April 12th and 13th.   They competed against 850 other students from all over Idaho in various events such as Dental Science, Nutrition, Health Education and Pharmacology and many more.  
Leah Higgins finished second in her event; Medical Career Photography, Alexis Hiler finished second in Epidemiology and the team of Alexis Hiller and Kristyna Krogh earned second place in Health Career Display.  Kristyna Krogh also finished in the top 5 in Dental Science and Kyleigh Duclos received a 5th place finish in Health Career Photography. Kendra Duclos finished in the top 10 percent in the Healthcare Issues exam.  
The top three finishers in each event get to go on to compete in Dallas Texas at the National level as well as those who finished in the top 10 percent in the Healthcare Issues exam.
“It was a pleasure taking these seventeen students to Boise for this competition,” said Cheri Holthaus, HOSA Advisor.  “I was so proud of the way they all represented themselves and Prairie High School.”
