Booster Bulletin
Another year almost in the books and the work for the coming year for fall sports and the booster club is kicking off.   The summer is a time of rest and recovery, but our Prairie athletes will have opportunities to go to camps and spend time at open gyms to keep improving their abilities.  The booster club is already working on next year’s mechanisms of support and fundraising to help our school continue its high level of achievement both academically and athletically.
On June 8th the Booster club is putting on a KICKING OFF SUMMER KICKBALL TOURNAMENT. Scheduled as an 8-team tournament we have 5 teams signed up and looking for three more. This event is designed for a couple of purposes.  First it is a family event where the adults, normally the spectators take a swing at being the athlete and having the kids be the spectator and support.   Secondly it is a fundraising event for the booster club to raise money to invest in the next years school activities.  We have asked the spring sports teams to participate in this event to help.   They will be working in the Burger Barn, yes burgers will be served so bring the family out to have dinner and watch some adults square off.   They will also serve as referees and scorekeepers and for an additional small fee, any adult player can hire one of these youngsters to run for or play defense during the game.   Hopefully a great opportunity for the family to come out and Kick off the Summer.
Keeping up the theme of Fundraising, I would ask all you Prairie supporters to come out for the second annual PIRATE RUN AND WALK.   The Prairie Cross Country team has its fundraiser on June 2nd at 9am starting at the Elem. school.  This team ran 19 strong last year and the girls team qualified for state.   With 20 signed up this year, both the boys and girls team should be chasing a trip to state this year.   Please join them on June 2nd for this fun and healthy fundraising event.  Early signups are appreciated but entries will be taken the day of the event.
Other fundraising that I know of because of I have two ducks in the race.  The girls’ basketball team is selling rubber ducks for $10 each for a big race which will happen in the future.  I didn’t get the date but please support them in this fundraising event.  I’m sure more information will be coming soon.
Thank you to all Prairie Boosters for all you do.   We are ordering more Prairie shirts and sweatshirts and hats soon.  We also have a couple more stadium chairs available if anyone wants them.I hope everyone has a great summer and please join us at the Pirate Run and the Kickball Tournament to start off the summer.   Please call me for any details on any of these events.   208-983-4190   As always, Go Pirates!
