Ideas sought for former school property
Ryan and Heather Uhlenkott of Cottonwood have partnered with Thomas and Barbara Mannschreck of Boise to purchase the old Prairie Elementary School property.
Both couples were at the old school building Friday, checking it out. At this point they’d like to be able to make use of both the classroom building and the former district office building. Prior to being Prairie Elementary School, it was St. Joseph’s School and the district office was the dorm for the nuns who taught at the school.
The two couples spent much of the morning Friday talking with potential stakeholders to see what would work best for the community. They received a lot of positive comments and input.
The Mannschrecks are owners of Thomas Development Co. which is a real estate developer specializing in apartment complexes in the Boise area.
Both couples had interest when the property went up for auction and were able to work together to submit the winning bid.
They are looking into several options and would love to have public input as to what the community feels would be the best use of the property. They may look into having a public meeting.
Ryan Uhlenkott said he would like to see a use for former playground area that ties together with what the buildings would be used for.
The Mannschrecks can be contacted at their business office at 208-343-8877, by cell phone at 208-867-0314 or by email at mannschreck@thomasdevelopment.com
You can contact Ryan and Heather Uhlenkott as well if you have some constructive ideas on what to do with the property.
They don’t plan on letting it set very long. Thomas Mannschreck said he would like to be turning a shovel on something by the end of the year.
