25 to graduate Friday
6 co-valedictorians will lead a class of 25 students through graduation ceremonies this Friday, May 25 at the Prairie Jr./Sr. High School gym.
Ceremonies start at 7 p.m. with co-valedictorians Dereck Arnzen, Leah Higgins, Anthony Karel, Calli Perrin, Jace Perrin and Molly Schwartz leading the way. Next will be salutatorian Alexis Shears.
Students in the class graduating with high honors will be Sydney Bruner, Tucker Hibbard, Trista Latimer, Jade Peery, Josie Peery, Sarah Ross, Delaney Uhlenkott and Angela Wemhoff. They all will graduate with a better than 3.50 grade point average.
Five additional students will graduate with honors with a 3.0 to 3.5 grade point average over their 4 years in high school. They are Hunter Chaffee, Colton Keith, Sierah Poxleitner, Lucas Schwartz and Jacob Stubbers.
Rounding out the class are Jared Coppernoll, Jayce Huling, Nick Mager, Cheyenne Maurer and Brad Poxleitner.
The commencement speaker will be PHS graduate and former Prairie teacher Krystal Ellis.
The class flower is the White Rose.
The class colors are purple and platinum.
The class song is “Grew Up Slower.”
The class motto is: “It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all—in which case, you fail by default.”
