September activities for Tri-Parish Youth
Dear Youth and Adults in Christ,
The school bells are ringing, the weather is showing signs of change, kids are waking up early to head to the bus and the feel of football is in the air.  With every new season comes an invitation for newness.  It isn’t always easy to move from our familiar habits to embrace new ones, but once they too become familiar, we begin to hold them and move to a new place off familiarity.  It is in this mindset I would like to invite you into our youth ministry process. During the month of September, we will begin our journey of faith through developing adult teams who will help in planning and implementing our faith studies, socials, missions, prayer opportunities, retreats, fundraisers and more.  We will also be inviting our youth into a deeper commitment of time through attending Adoration, planning Bible studies, and participating in our Back to School celebration.  It’s time to make a decision to grow in your faith and step into the deep, we can’t wait to see what God holds for us in this process!
Happy Labor Day to everyone on September 3rd, everyone enjoy your final days of summer with friends and family!
On September 5th the 2018 Haiti team will meet the OMG at 7:00 to discuss our presentation details.  Also, please remember to get your pictures to Kaylee for the slideshow.
On September 7th the youth and their families are invited to attend Adoration at St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 p.m.  I am working on music for this sacred time so please consider joining us for an hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament!
On September 12th the adult Confirmation planning team will be meeting at the Habit at 7:00 p.m. to discuss plans for this year’s Confirmation program.  I will be personally calling team members to invite you to be a part of this great journey and thank you for your “yes”.
On September 17th the High School Leaders who are leading a Focus Bible Studies are asked to meet at the Habit at 7:00 to begin planning study groups.  I will be calling you, or if you are interested in leading a Bible Study please call me.  Many of you, said “yes” about either attending or leading a group during our Confirmation interviews last Spring.  I will be in contact with you as we begin to implement this amazing process.
On September 19th at 7:00 p.m. at the OMG, I am inviting parents to attend a Youth Ministry Core team meeting to discuss upcoming youth events and activities.  It is in this discussion that I will be asking for help and assistance in several different areas.  I know that many of you are gifted in different areas, therefore it is my hope through discovering these gifts that we can match your talent with the youth ministry need.  Please join us on this great faith adventure as we build up our young Church together.  (I will have 3 months of the youth ministry calender for us to review).
On September 26th we will officially kick off the school year with our “Back to School Bash”.  We will begin the night at St. Mary’s Church at 6:00 p.m. with dinner for youth and their families.  Please note that everyone is invited to this great night of faith filled fun.  Our night will involve youth games, fire and smores.  Please join us as we come together as community to celebrate our youth and their families!
(Just a reminder: The 30 hour Fast for High School youth is on Oct. 6th and 7th at Keuterville.  You can pick up your permission slips from the parish office or by contacting Debbie)
Thank you everyone and “yes” God does have something more for you… Join us in our youth ministry process and you will find out just what he holds specifically for you!
In Christ,
Debbie
