Conservation funding is available
The Lewis Soil Conservation District, Idaho Soil and Water Conservation District and NRCS have a Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) funding opportunities for landowners who are located in Lewis and Idaho Counties. The districts are the leaders in the implementation program - Camas Prairie Soil Health Enhancement. NRCS EQIP funds will be used to implement Best Management Practices targeting soil health and water quality improvements.  A few example would be cover crops, precision agriculture, nutrient management and transitioning to organic.
Implementation is expected to start as soon as landowner plans and contracts can be developed, potentially by spring 2019.
If you think you would like to participate in the RCPP programs please contact the Lewis Soil Conservation District/NRCS, 521 Oak St. Room 8, Nezperce, Id, 83543 or phone 208-937-2291 ext. 3 or Idaho Soil and Water Conservation District/NRCS, 102 S. Hall St., Grangeville, Id 83530 or phone 208-983-1046 ext. 3.
