Here are our October classes which will all be held in Grangeville:
Eco-Dyed Silk Scarves
Tues. Oct. 9th; 6-9pm
By: Lynette Mullis; Cost: $45
Create your own eco-dyed silk scarf in class and take it home wet, in a jar, to finish dyeing and drying. The class moves quickly to get the scarves in the dye pot, followed by a 5" x 7" slow stitch project while discussing eco-dyeing, dyeing history and plants.
Clean Your Computer
Thurs. Oct. 11th; 6-9pm
By: Elijah Zeida; Cost: $50
Bring your laptop and power cord and learn how to remove malware, junk files, and fix problems that are slowing down your machine. This is a hands-on class that teaches you how to keep your laptop running at peak proficiency.
Sip & Roll: Smoked Salmon Sushi
Mon. Oct. 15; 6-8pm
By: Rachel Young; Cost: $32
Sushi doesn’t have to mean eating raw fish!  Learn to make and roll sushi using two techniques by making smoked salmon maki (a regular rolling method) and uramaki (an inside out roll). A few of the rolls will contain imitation crab for variety.  Bring your appetite and if you want, you can purchase a beverage from the Veteran Center’s bar.
Risk Reduction for Businesses
Wed. Oct. 17th; 1–4:30pm
By: Attorney, Insurance Agent & SBDC; Cost: $25
Learn how to reduce your business risk in an afternoon discussion with three experts. Attorney Joe Wright will talk about risk control, entities, contracts, lawsuits, and employee risk. Insurance agent Cathy Jo Witters will discuss protection, cybercrime, safety and employee handbooks. Finally, Barbara Leachman of the Small Business Development Center will lecture on embezzlement, accounting controls, collection, credit, cash flow and how good accounting reports can help reduce risk.
Effective Letter Writing
Wed. Oct. 17th; 5:30-7:30pm

Do you ever think you should write a letter to the editor but let the opportunity pass because you feel uncomfortable? Whether it’s praising a person or group, challenging an article or letter, or bringing up an issue that affects your community, this class will provide tips on how to write a letter with a clear message.
