Ski Skoop
Another Powder Alert at the Cottonwood Butte Ski Area!  We had a great weekend of skiing and snowboarding with 6 inches of new snow!  Total snow accumulation is 32 inches at the base and 38 inches at the summit. With more snow in the forecast for this week our snow conditions are looking great!
Cottonwood Butte Ski Area and St. Mary's Hospital-Clearwater Valley Hospital are pairing up to host 1st and 2nd year medical students for a weekend immersion course focusing on Wilderness and Rural Medicine. The disaster drill will take place at Cottonwood Butte Ski Area on Saturday, March 2nd. The Butte hosted a similar drill last year and in 2012.  We will be open to the public during the drill and we are also extending our operating hours this weekend.  Our operating hours for this weekend are Friday March 2nd 6:00pm to 10:00 pm, Saturday March 3rd 10am to 8:00pm, and Sunday March 4th 10:00am to 4:00pm.
On Sunday March 4th we will have our annual Frost Bite Club.  Skiers and snowboarders who wear spring or summer clothing while on the slopes (it can be over snow pants and coats) will get a ticket to be placed in a bucket for prize drawings.   Also the most creative male and female outfit will each win a grand prize of a free lift ticket!
In the lodge we have a full lunch menu.  So come escape to the fresh powder on the hill, enjoy our extended operating hours, join the Frost Bite Club on Sunday, or just come, have lunch, and enjoy the exciting weekend!
Please check Facebook, the Today @ CBSA on our website www.cottonwoodbutte.org, or call the Lodge during operating hours 208-962-3624 for snow conditions, openings, closures and prices.
