Jake Quintal is Spelling Bee winner
The Prairie Schools Spelling Bee was held Wednesday, Feb. 20th with Jake Quintal, son of Suzi and Mike Quintal, emerging as the overall winner.
Quintal, a sixth grader, successfully spelled fulcrum to win the event.
He will advance to the Northwest Regional Spelling Bee in Lewiston on Saturday, March 9th at the Williams Conference Center, Lewis-Clark State College at 1:30 pm.
All students in grades 3rd through 8th participated in their classroom spell-off during the week, then 12 students were named classroom finalists who participated in the school spelling bee on Feb 20th.
The 12 finalists are shown in the accompanying photo. They are Morgan Poxleitner, Lee Forsmann, Ben Elven, Tara Schlader, Jake Quintal, Sydney Shears, Monica Goeckner, Mikayla Rowland, Alli Rambo, Philip Schwartz, Kade Quintal and Ashton Martin.
