Farm and Forest Fair set
Prairie Elementary and Summit Academy fifth graders will be taking part in the 2019 Camas Prairie Area Farm & Forest Fair set for April 10 and 11 at the Greencreek Community Hall.
Prairie students will attend on Wednesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. while Summit students will be there on Thursday, April 11, also at 10 a.m.
The Farm & Forest Fair is a hands-on educational experience. The University of Idaho cooperates with area agriculture and natural resource groups and agencies to present a 1½ hour guided tour of learning stations. Groups of 10-15 students move through each learning station.
Students will be exposed to the variety of crops, livestock and forest products from the north central Idaho region, Students will assemble educational materials in provided sacks as they move through the fair.
Parents and teachers are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The presentation curricula and techniques are guided by the University of Idaho Extension.
Objectives are to increase knowledge, literacy and awareness of agriculture and natural resources among area youth who will become consumers and community leaders; demonstrate opportunities in agriculture and natural resource fields and to offer area school district a quality educational experience on agriculture and natural resources at no cost.
